A 1.3-gallon tank with a pump in it, so the pressure comes from a motor instead of from your arm. It carries on a shoulder strap or by the handle, and the telescopic wand reaches the back of a border without you standing in it.

Four nozzles cover the range from a fine mist for foliage to a straight jet for the base of a shrub. Whatever you are putting through it — feed, neem, plain water for the hanging baskets — the output stays even instead of falling off as the tank empties.
