The cold frame idea, lifted off the ground and put on legs. You get the three or four extra weeks at each end of the season that a cover buys you, without kneeling on wet grass to reach under it.

The cover flips up on a hinge and stays up while you work, and a roll-up zipper door vents it on a warm afternoon rather than making you take the whole thing off. Black steel frame, drainage hole in the base so the soil does not sit wet.
