A hexagonal steel fire pit with slatted sides, which is the detail that matters: the gaps feed air to the fire from underneath, so it draws properly instead of smouldering and smoking everyone out of their chairs.
It comes with a log grate to keep the wood off the base, and at thirteen and a half pounds one person can carry it to the beach, the campsite or the far corner of the yard. Steel with a heat-resistant finish.
Burn seasoned wood in it. Wood bought wet in December is a smoke machine.
